As a non-profit Preferred Provider Organization (PPO), we cover Berks, Upper Bucks, Carbon, Northern Lancaster, Lehigh, Montgomery, Northampton, and Schuylkill counties. Through relationships with Third-Party Administrators (TPA's), insurance carriers, and insurance brokers, employer groups can access our valuable services. Our services include: medical and case management; a comprehensive network of credentialed physicians, hospitals, and ancillary facilities, wellness and disease management programs, short-term disability case management, and Pennsylvania's Preferred Health Networks (PPHN), a statewide PPO network.

American Heart Month

Cardiovascular diseases, including stroke, are our nation's #1 killer. The American Heart Association recommends "Life's Simple 7", which are 7 steps you can take to improve your health.

  • Get active for as little as 30 minutes a day. Without exercise, your body loses strength and its ability to function well.
  • Control Cholesterol. Your level should be less than 200mg/dL. Schedule a screening, eat foods low in cholesterol and saturated fat and free of trans fat, maintain a healthy weight, and stay physically active.
  • Eat better. Choose foods like vegetables, fruit, whole-grain products, and fat-free or low-fat dairy products most often.
  • Manage blood pressure. High blood pressure is the single most significant risk factor for heart disease. It is called the "silent killer" because it has no symptoms. Reduce salt intake, manage stress, maintain a healthy weight, limit alcohol, and avoid tobacco smoke.
  • Lose weight. If you have too much fat, especially at your waist, you are at higher risk for high blood pressure, high cholesterol, and diabetes.
  • Control blood sugar. Adults with diabetes are 2 - 4 times more likely to have heart disease or stroke than adults without diabetes.
  • Stop smoking. Smoking is the most important preventable cause of premature death in the U.S.

National Wear Red Day is Friday February 3, 2012. Wear your favorite red dress, shirt, or tie to show support for women's heart disease
