What Is Berkshire Health Partners (BHP)?

Berkshire Health Partners (BHP) is a fully integrated, preferred provider organization. Locally based and operated in PA, we are a provider network, made up of physicians, hospitals, and ancillary providers and facilities, such as home health care providers and medical equipment suppliers. We are not an insurance company. We are a not-for-profit organization that serves as a resource and healthcare advocate for individuals, employers, and providers. Think of us as your “real life” provider directory.

BHP members have access to a wide variety of health care professionals, facilities, and services. We provide claims repricing and utilization management services as well as our most important service – representing your interests to insurance companies and third party administrators.

We do not handle Medicare plans or provide supplement plans to Medicare.

What is Medicus?

Medicus Resource Management is a wholly owned subsidiary of BHP that works hand-in-hand with employers, individuals and providers to coordinate the utilization management process. Medicus also provides the following services: precertifications, concurrent review, case management and short term disability reviews. Medicus has an established reputation for excellent service, using state-of-the-art computer systems to review cases and identify potential quality issues. Medicus services are reviewed monthly by quality and utilization management committees, made up of physicians who are part of Berkshire Health Partners.
